About
I am originally from upstate New York. I relocated with my parents to WV in 1976 and have been a resident of the panhandle ever since. I grew up watching and working with my father, who was also general contractor, and helped him remodel our home from top to bottom as a teenager.
After I graduated high school, I worked for two different mason contractors as an apprentice mason for 2 years on a variety of projects. Then I took a temporary 1 year work appointment position with the National Park Service and worked on numerous projects during that time including: working on a variety of stonework projects on the C&O Canal in Hancock, MD; rebuilding a stone retaining wall on the Conococheague Aqueduct in Williamsport, MD. In addition, I worked as part of the Denver Service Center Preservation Restoration Team headquartered in Williamsport, MD and worked on a variety of projects throughout the country including: restoring stonework on the Piper Barn at Antietam Battlefield; restoring brickwork on a house on the Monocacy Battlefield in Frederick, MD; restoring the roof on the Lee House at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA; and building a fireplace in the Laundress Quarters at the American Camp in Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, WA. This was all very interesting work for me, but I could not get a full time position because I did not have military time. After that, I worked for my stepfather and then for a couple of different contractors as a carpenter building custom homes.
In 1987, I decided to go into business for myself working exclusively in the tri-state area on a variety of custom jobs and have been proudly serving the area for nearly 30 years and still enjoy my work everyday!
